2025

Thursday marked a brilliant way to close out the year, as Year 10–13 students gathered at the CyberFirst Wales Pathways Event at the University of South Wales, Newport Campus to explore what a future in cyber could look like.

Instead of being told about cyber security, they were dropped straight into it.

The Breach In Action

Across four interactive sessions, students took on The Breach... a fast-paced cyber whodunnit where a single stolen credential can bring an organisation to its knees.

The experience was delivered on the day by Admiral Insurance, who brought the challenge directly to students as part of their ongoing commitment to community impact and future talent development.

Teams raced against the clock to analyse logs, follow digital trails, interrogate clues, and piece together how the attack unfolded. One team even completed the 30-minute challenge in an astonishing 20 minutes... proof that curiosity, teamwork, and calm thinking go a long way.

Making Access Possible

To support the event, The Cyber Escape Room Co. supplied The Breach kit to Admiral at a reduced rate, enabling it to be taken into educational settings and reach students who might not otherwise encounter hands-on cyber experiences like this.

Because building the next generation of cyber talent isn’t just about content... it’s about access.

And when organisations collaborate to lower barriers, the impact is immediate and tangible.

Huge credit to Admiral for investing the time, energy, and people to make the sessions happen on the ground. This is what meaningful outreach looks like: practical, engaging, and rooted in real-world skills.

And a quiet thank-you to everyone involved behind the scenes, from delivery to logistics, who helped ensure the experience ran smoothly and left a lasting impression.

Closing The Year The Right Way

It’s always encouraging to see students rise to a challenge when they’re trusted with something real. Events like this are a reminder that cyber skills don’t start with job titles... they start with opportunities.

We’re proud to have played a part in making this one possible, and excited for what collaborations like this can unlock in 2026.

Wishing everyone a restful festive break.
